Christian Head Covering

(I have been looking forward to Autumn, so I found this Sun Flower accent for my head covering at Hobby Lobby in their Fall Decore section!)

“Christians don’t wear head coverings!”

Have you ever seen a Nun? have you ever seen an Amish woman? These are two types of Christians that do wear head coverings, and there are others as well.

“Well,… that’s not for today.”

Really? Says who? 1 Corinthians 11:1-16 says:

I praise and appreciate you because you remember me in everything and you firmly hold to the [a]traditions [the substance of my instructions], just as I have passed them on to you. But I want you to understand that Christ is the head (authority over) of every man, and man is the head of woman, and God is the head of Christ. Every man who prays or [b]prophesies with something on his head dishonors his head [and the One who is his head]. And every woman who prays or prophesies when she has her [c]head uncovered disgraces her head; for she is one and the same as the [d]woman whose head is shaved [in disgrace]. If a woman does not cover her head, she should have her hair cut off; and [e]if it is disgraceful for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, she should cover her head. A man ought not have his head covered [during worship], since he is the image and [reflected] glory of God; but the woman is [the expression of] man’s glory. For man does not originate from woman, but woman from man; for indeed man was not created for the sake of woman, but woman for the sake of man. 10 Therefore the woman ought to have a sign ofauthority on her head, [f]for the sake of the angels [so as not to offend them]. 11 Nevertheless, woman is not independent of man, nor is man independent of woman. 12 For as the woman originates from the man, so also man is born through the woman; and all things [whether male or female] originate from God [as their Creator]. 13 [g]Judge for yourselves; is it proper for a woman to offer prayer to God [publicly] with her head uncovered? 14 Does not common sense itself teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a dishonor to him, 15 but if a woman has long hair, it is her ornament and glory? For her long hair is given to her as a covering. 16 Now if anyone is inclined to be contentious [about this], we have no other practice [in worship than this], nor do the churches of God [in general].

Yes,… that’s a lot to take in and understand, and there is definitely some confusion as to if long hair is a covering or not. So I would like to suggest a book that has really helped me understand this subject

This booklet has helped me the most, in understanding this subject more than any other. So much so, that I’ve considered purchasing several just to hand out!

I have personally been covering for five years now, not as a fashion show, but for prayer and humility. There is definitely something about covering when praying and studying the Bible! ❤️

Nothing is impossible!

Sadly there is so much fear running rampant right now with the coronavirus. People are scared, unsure, and worried.

But I wanted to remind everyone, that our God is The God of the impossible! He hasn’t stepped off His throne, or had His Authority taken. His Word still remains as powerful as it did in the days of The Bible. He never changes!

Turn back to Him, with weeping, with mourning, with fasting. Come close to Him and He will come close to you! Ask for forgiveness of your sin and remember the costly price JESUS The Christ paid to reconcile us back to Him! He LOVES US so much. ❤️❤️❤️ There is POWER in His Blood,… never forget that, (Revelation 12:11)!

Suggested reading: Read Joel 2, “The Bait Of Satan” by John Brevere, “The Secret Of The Stairs” by Wade E Taylor, “Bought With Blood” by Derek Prince, “The Prayer Of Protection” by Joseph Prince and “Fasting” by Jentezen Franklin.

Heart’s Motive.

I really, whole heartedly believe our heart’s motive has so much to do with God’s ability to use us and work through us. We can say, “I love so and so!” but if we have been hurt by so and so, and it has not been dealt with or forgiven, we will hold back everything God wants us to do for them or how we treat them. And in the end we are hindering what God wants to do through us for that person.

We need to be just wrecked by God’s unconditional love for us and for all people! If we allow Him to do that, and if we determine to keep our heart’s and minds continually flowing out of God’s love,… His love will wreck others and they will need to know who God is, who Jesus is, who The Holy Spirit is! They will desperately NEED to know Him!

But this needs to start with us. We NEED to know Him. We need to be so desperate for Him, so in love with Him that NOTHING, NO ONE and NO HURT or OFFENSE could ever distract us from getting to KNOW HIM, The God of unconditional LOVE.

“For [if we are] in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything, but only faith activated and expressed and working through love.” Galatians 5:6 AMP

I know how hard it can be when you have been hurt by someone. Depending on the hurt or offense, it can take weeks, months or even years to get over that pain,… whether it was intentional or not or whether it is true or not. Sometimes people lie about you and slander you. They will do everything they can to destroy your reputation in other people’s eyes, and it can be devastating!

Getting even is not the answer.

Hurting people, hurt others. I wholeheartedly believe that. When people are hurting from past pains that have never been healed, the pain grows and begins to consume a person’s mind the longer it goes without being dealt with. When a person’s heart and mind is so consumed with these wounds, all that they see and hear is through a “lens” or filter of past pain. They are usually suspicious, critical, bitter, gossiping, aggressive, slandering, and, or accusing. They always seem to be there, pointing out other’s faults, problems, or “lies”.

As Christians we cannot be like this. This will hinder the Love Of God from flowing through us, because we won’t know it ourselves!

” 8. He who does not love has not become acquainted with God [does not and never did know Him], for Gos is love.

9. In this the love of God was made manifest (displayed) where we are concerned: in that God sent His Son, the only begotten or unique [Son], into the world so that we might live through Him.

10. In this love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation (the atoning sacrifice) for our sins.

11. Beloved, if God loved us so [very much], we also ought to love one another.

12. No man has at any time [yet] seen God. But if we love one another, God abides (lives and remains) in us and His love (that love which is essentially His) is brought to completion (to its full maturity, runs its full course, is perfected) in us!”

13. By this we come to know (perceive, recognize, and understand) that we abide (live and remain) in Him and He in us: because He has given (imparted) to us of His [Holy] Spirit.

14. And [besides] we ourselves have seen (have deliberately and steadfastly contemplated) and bear witness that the Father has sent the Son [as the] Savior Of The world.” 1 John 4:8-14 AMP

Please also read 1 Corinthians 13:1-8, 13, 14:1.

Ok, so the question is, how do we receive a healing for mental and emotional wounds? The answer (is always) Prayer. Going to God and depending on Him for healing should always be our first and main choice. And during that time, if He leads you to a book, or to another source, then He is still being the source of your healing! It may take some time, be patient and persistent.

35. “And one of their number, a lawyer, asked Him a question to test Him.

36. Teacher, which kind of commandment is great and important (the principal kind) in the Law? [Some commandments are light- which are heavy?]

37. And He replied to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind (intellect).

38. This is the great (most important, principal) and first commandment.

39. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as [you do] yourself.

40. These two commandments sum up and upon them depend all the Law and the Prophets.” Matthew 22:35-40 AMP.

If I may suggest a few books that have helped me:

“The Bait Of Satan” by John Brevere (an excellent book!),

“The Supernatural Power Of Forgiveness” by Kris & Jason Vallotton (I’m currently reading this one, and it’s really good!),

“Did You Learn To Love?” By Bonnie Jones,

“Experiencing The Father’s Embrace” by Jack Frost,

“Only Love Can Make A Miracle” by Mahesh Chavada (one of my favorites besides ‘The Bait Of Satan’!)

If you feel led, look into these books. The Bait Of satan really helped me personally.

The Strength To Love

As a Christian, I wholeheartedly believe that love is supposed to be the foundation of our relationship with God and all people.

I have several books on the subject of love, and all have changed my outlook and heart tremendously. My favorite is, “The Bait Of Satan” by John Brevere.

But there is one that has been on my list for a while, written by Dr Martin Luther King. And since it is a day in honor of him, I purchased his book in hopes that my love for God and people can go as deep as his, despite all offenses.

Let’s not just say, “Happy Martin Luther Day”, but rather let’s reflect his character of love through action and word.

“A Hunger For God” by John Piper.

First off, I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! I know we did. Our Son who is in the Military was able to come home for Christmas, and having everyone home means more to me than any material gift.

As most of you know I have been on a quest to understand and apply Fasting to my life. I have read some great book on the benefits of prayer and fasting such as “The Hidden Power Of Prayer And Fasting” by Mahesh Chavada, which is an excellent book! But I need to understand the ‘why’. I can go through the motions, but to understand why will make it much more appreciated and applicable. So I was reading The Passion Translation Bible, (his insight and understanding of Scriptures is jaw dropping,… literally!) trying to learn more about prayer and fasting when I came across Mark 9 where the disciples were not able to cure a boy tormented by a demon. As usual verse 29 stood out to me, but let’s start with verse 28, The Passion Translation, 28. “Afterwards, when Jesus arrived at the house, His disciples asked Him in private, “Why couldn’t we cast out the demon?” 29. He answered them, “This type of powerful spirit can only be cast out by fasting and prayer.” b

Footnote b is where it gets very interesting it says, “b 9:29 As translated from the Aramaic and some Greek manuscripts. Many reliable Greek texts leave out “fasting”. However, the word fasting was found on a fragment going back to the third century. (See also Isa. 58:6.) Our lives must be saturated with the Presence of God through prayer and fasting in order to conquer the evil that is in the world and hiding in the hearts of mankind.”

This is the part that caught my eye, “Our lives must be saturated with the Presence of God through prayer and fasting….” So fasting and prayer help to saturate our lives with His Presence!

So I did another search on that topic, prayer, fasting and The Presence of God,… and I found a book called, “A Hunger For God” by John Piper, that focuses just on that. In fact, the search also brought up the e-book! (Although I purchased a hard copy on Amazon quickly after reading some of this.)

Here is the link, if any of you want to understand prayer and fasting as I do. 🙂
